… universal cuisine.
When I was a kid I loved going to the snack bar at the Air and Space Museum in Washington DC. There they served packages of freeze-dried ice cream for desert. JUST LIKE THE ASTRONAUTS EAT! It was terribly fantastic.
I am less enthusiastic about the menu in space these days:
“Many of my friends are curious about what we eat [in space] and think that the astronauts must have some expensive delicacies, like shark’s fin or abalone,” he wrote. “Actually we ate quite normal food, there is no need to keep it a secret,” he added.
I have a story about a family BBQ in the Philipines that I may tell you one day, but today is not that day.
