… those of you with a gambling problem.
President Obama provides a dollop of medicine he refuses to take himself in this article in The Hill. He tells us that if you are in financial trouble don’t add to your difficulty by being foolish with your money. You know… like going to Vegas to gamble. Sound reasonable?
“When times are tough, you tighten your belts,” he said at the forum.” You don’t go buying a boat when you can barely pay your mortgage. You don’t blow a bunch of cash in Vegas when you’re trying to save for college.”
Good on ya Mr. President. Well said. Let Joe Six-pack know a little something about fiscal responsibility. What’s that? Oh, this wasn’t meant for Joe Six-pack? Who did you mean then?
White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs later clarified that Obama meant to target banks and other firms that received federal bailout funds. Gibbs said that the president believes in a strong tourism industry.
Ah… Well, that makes sense. Banks stay out of Vegas, especially those we forced to take our tarp money. They would just waste the money on Roulette anyway and everyone knows that’s a suckers bet.
Oh, and one more thing… don’t forget to tip the hookers on your way out of the state. Political prostitution is the only growth economy going.
