Yesterday afternoon one of my students and her father died in a car accident. Hannah George was a petite 13-year-old, quiet and openhearted. Her father Jeff was a heart surgeon in the Roanoke area. Their car swerved into a guard rail and then caught on fire.
Today I sat in our school’s great room and heard the sobs and wails of Hannah’s fellow students who were shocked by the news and sharing their grief, and I had a recurring thought: I hate the curse. Followed by another: praise you, Christ, for the resurrection of the dead. “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints” (Ps 116:15).
Please pray for Teresa George, who lost her daughter, husband, and family and is suffering immensely.
Requiascat in pace, Hannah.
